Today we reviewed latitude and longitude and then had a worksheet where they worked with a partner to find the latitude and longitude of places around the world.  They also worked on locating towns according to latitude and longitude.

We got to know each other a little bit more by playing a game, and then moved on to learning the 5 themes of Geography.

Day 1, Welcome to Geography!

It was a joy and a pleasure to meet all of the students today.  They each filled out surveys to help me get to know each and every one of them better.  The rest of the time was then spent working on KWL sheets about a country. The purpose was to help them get to thinking about different cultures and things they would be interested in learning.
Ask your student which country/culture they are most interested in learning about.
