Bell Ringer: "What city are you in?" -Imagine that you don’t know where you are. You ask the first person you see, who replies, ‘You are 600 miles from Phoenix, Arizona.’ You find this odd, but look at your map, and come up with a number of possible locations. You decide to ask another person, who replies ‘You are 710 miles from St. Paul, Minnesota.’ Again, this is strange, but you add this bit of information to your map. Finally, you decide you need to ask one more person. The last gentleman adds, ‘You are 640 miles from Boise, Idaho.’ Aha! Finally, you know where you are! What city are you in?
